The romantic European tête-à-têtes banquette has historical significance rooted in the 19th century. These pieces were designed to facilitate private conversations between two people, typically placed in parlors or drawing rooms, reflecting the social customs and etiquette of the time that valued privacy and intimate dialogue. The design embodies the era’s romanticism and attention to detail in furniture craftsmanship, while also serving as a symbol of the social norms and values of intimate, yet proper, interactions. Available in any Century fabric or COM.
